Mount Banga is a huge natural monument for both hiking and discovering the historical realities of this site. Banga literally means “Mount of Secrets”. It is an old drum sanctuary called Nyabuhoro. Manufacturers and drummers named Abatimbo from the Abashubi clan played an important role during the ancient National Seeding Day. There is in Banga an old property of a former representative of the colonial power – a Belgian named Pearsons, which was bought by the congregation of Bene Tereza nuns. The place has been rehabilitated to accommodate visitors with a 37 rooms hotel, a restaurant and conference facilities.
