The Bururi Natural Reserve covers a surface of 3,300 ha. It is located on the southern part of the Congo-Nile Ridge in the vicinity of the small town of Bururi. The fauna consists mainly of primates, antelopes and many species of birds. Trekking and mount climbing are possible around the site. The Mount Magufa located in the reserve offers a wonderful observatory point to admire the Imbo plain with Lake Tanganyika in the background and the undulating hills surrounding it.
