Lake Cohoha is located on the border with Rwanda, in northern Burundi. Its name originates in its elongated shape and multiple pockets. It is part of a series of 9 lakes in northern Burundi, including Rweru and Kanzigiri at the border with Rwanda and lakes Rwihinda, Mwungere, Gacamirindi and Naruganzo. Kigozi Guest House, a property of the Bene Tereza nuns located on the shores of the lake, offers accommodation and leisure opportunities.
