The Kigwena Nature Reserve is situated along the Lake Tanganyika’s lagoon in Rumonge province. The reserve’s flora consists mainly of limbas forest and palm trees. The fauna consists of monkeys, mongooses, jackal and serval. Hippos graze on the shore of Lake Tanganyika. This tourist attraction is located in the vicinity of the Mugara Hotsprings, the Vyanda Nature Reserves, the beaches of Lake Tanganyika and fishing villages along the lake.
